In Ireland, Solid Surface Material, or SSM sinks have become very popular over the past few years and are available in a wide variety of colours to coordinate with countertops and units colours and materials. Depending on bonded material used these sinks will have a variance in their scratch-proof qualities but generally these buff out easily. Some brands have a lifetime warrantee such is the confidence of manufacturers in the materials used. However, some SSM materials tend to be gaudy in appearance.
